Raffles Dubai promotes new director of sales

Raffles Dubai have appointed Len Tobias as the hotel’s new director of sales for leisure, as well as making changes to the rest of the hotel’s Dubai based sales team.

Raffles Dubai director of sales and marketing Sue Wheatley announced that Ahmed Adam is to become assistant director of sales for leisure, while Tamer Refaat will take on the role of assistant corporate director of sales.

Philippines born, Tobias started her hospitality career fifteen years before moving to Dubai in 2001 to become a part of the business development team at the World Trade Centre Hotel.

After joining the preopening team of Jumeirah’s Bab Al Shams Desert Resort in 2004 as a business development executive, Tobias quickly progressed to the role of acting associate director of business development.

Tobias first joined Raffles Dubai in 2010 as senior sales manager for Leisure where her knowledge and relationships with destination management companies in Dubai as well as international tour operators has helped develop Raffles Dubai’s leisure market and leading to her appointment as teh hotel’s director of sales for leisure.

Ahmed Adam hospitality career began in front office and reservations before moving into sales with the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel & Resort in Saudi-Arabia, Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort in Qatar, Shangri-La Hotel Dubai in UAE and the Radisson Blu Hotel Media City Dubai in UAE.

After heading global sales in Saudi Arabia for Carlson Rezidor Hotels in Riyadh, Adam moved to his new position with Raffles Dubai.

Tamer Refaat began his career as a Journalist for Al Ahram Hebdo, an International French Newspaper in his home country of Egypt. After moving to Dubai in 2004, Refaat began his hospitality career at the Renaissance Dubai Hotel (Marriott) as a front desk agent.

After joining Shangri-la Hotel in Dubai in 2006, his hard work and dedication helped his move to sales, eventually reaching the position of Business Development Manager.

Refaat first joined Raffles Dubai in May 2010 as sales manager – corporate and was promoted to senior sales manager - corporate in October 2011.
