David Edgcumbe, July 25th, 2013

The International Coffee & Tea Festival 2013 (ICTF) will again be held in the UAE this year as host World Coffee Events aims to build on the 80 companies and 8000 people who attended last year’s show.

Running from October 8 to 11, 2013 at the Meydan Grandstand and Convention Centre in Dubai, the festival will highlight the UAE’S position as the fastest growing market by volume for coffee in the world, with an 80% growth in sales over the last five years.

UAE World Coffee Events national coordinator Ryan Godinho said: “With the UAE continuing to be a major global market for coffee and tea products, it is only logical to promote this growth through the International Coffee and Tea Festival.

Being the only dedicated event catering to the coffee and tea industry in the Middle East, the International Coffee and Tea Festival serves as a major driving force behind the sustainable growth of the industry in the UAE and across the region.”

The International Coffee & Tea Festival is aiming to be a one-stop destination for all facets of coffee bar and café products, equipment and services in the Middle East, as well as featuring various SCAA-Certified training workshops which are designed to help participants ensure the consistency of their products in terms of quality and delivery.

The Festival will also host the UAE Barista and Latte Art Championships, placing the country’s top baristas in a skill-based competition with the winner becoming the UAE representative to the 2014 World Barista Championships.

Other attractions at the show will include the “Taste Tea Zone” dedicated purely to tea enthusiasts and café trend-setters to get acquainted with new varieties and blends, and the “Espresso + Brew Bar” which will provide an opportunity for coffee companies, roasters and equipment manufacturers to promote their products and interact with customers in a more social setting.
