The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the Jumeirah Group hotel first opened in 1997, is about to undergo and extensive refurbishment of its F&B beverage operations which will see the renovation of up to seven of its restaurants in the next 12 months.
The first venues due to be overhauled will be the Dhow and Anchor and Palm Court lobby lounge, with the hotel’s executive assistant manager of F&B Peter Avram declaring that “the Jumeirah Beach Hotel was first opened in the 20th century and we’re aiming to bring its F&B into the 21st Century.”
“We have a total of 18 venues in the hotel and we are looking at renovating between six and seven within the next 12 months, subject to approval. This change is necessary to remain competitive in a market that has seen a big increase in standalone competition, for example in the DIFC area,” added Avram.
Jumeirah Group has already announced that the hotel set to launch its first celebrity-named concept restaurant with Jamie’s Italian Restaurant.
Jumeirah Group’s CEO and president, Gerald Lawless, hinted at the opening of the forthcoming eatery at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel to Hotelier at the recent AHIC conference, and the company has since confirmed to Caterer that plans for the opening of British chef Jamie Oliver’s second restaurant in Dubai are underway.
