Two properties from Oman-based Muriya Tourism Development’s portfolio - Sifawy Boutique Hotel and Juweira Hotel – have launched a campaign to support and raise funds for the Environmental Society of Oman.
Funds raised by the ‘Donate OMR 1’ campaign will go towards the management of ESO’s research projects and efforts to raise awareness.
ESO executive director Lamees Daar said: “ESO is dedicated to the preservation of Oman's natural heritage through conservation management, creating awareness and community outreach. Sifah boasts of a beautiful coastline with an expansive sea that is home to many species of whales and dolphins - creating awareness and protecting these species is the main aim of our Renaissance whale and dolphin research project.”
Sifawy Boutique Hotel and Juweira Hotel general manager Daniel Fanselow commented: “Although symbolic in monetary terms, this gesture connects our multinational clientele with the ideals championed by the ESO through its many activities and projects. In effect, our guests become stakeholders in the collective national goal of preserving Oman's unspoiled natural beauty.”
Muriya has previously supported various ESO initiatives, including the installation of mooring buoys along Oman’s coast to help safeguard the marine environment. Other ESO-led initiatives backed by Muriya include the 'Say No to Plastic Bags' drive, among other campaigns in support of environment awareness.
