Hotelier Middle East Staff, July 31st, 2013

Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel, which closed on July 8, is set to reopen in spring 2014 featuring new-look rooms, suites and public areas.

The hotel, part of Starwood’s UAE portfolio, is undergoing a major eight-10 month refurbishment with the new design incorporating European classical influences, Dubai’s modern tastes and Arabic accents.

The revamp will embrace "the modern interpretation of classic design for which the Sheraton brand is known," said the hotel in a statement.

It added: "Drawing inspiration from European classical design influences as well as Dubai's modern tastes, the hotel's new design will feature Arabic-influenced accents which celebrate the emirate, depicting scenes of Dubai old and new, Arabic patterns, and of the importance of water, another key design element."

Guest rooms will feature enhanced technology with a 42 inch LCD television, DVD player, iPod docking station and wifi internet.

The hotel will also introduce the brand’s signature Link@SheratonSM– a social, technology hub in the lobby created in partnership with Microsoft to keep guests connected.

Italian restaurant Vivaldi will be revamped in the style of a Tuscan villa, while the Hatta room will be transformed into a breakfast venue.

Sheraton is Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ leading brand in the Middle East and North Africa region, with 16 Sheraton hotels comprising a total of 4316 rooms currently in operation.
