Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi to add 300-room hotel

Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi will be adding a new hotel with 300 rooms to its existing complex in the UAE capital, general manager Jorg A Hauri told Hotelier Middle East.

The construction of the new hotel is part of an extensive renovation project launched at the beachfront property in Abu Dhabi.

The hotel has refurbished three F&B outlets – Prego’s, Trader Vic’s and Benihana – this year and will continue with Finz and Rodeo Grill in 2014.

Beach Rotana’s apartments will also be refurbished in 2014, in addition to renovations in public areas.

Hauri said all the work at Beach Rotana, including construction of the new hotel will be complete by 2016. With the new hotel, the complex will feature 900 rooms in total.

Beach Rotana is not the only Rotana property undergoing a renovation or construction project. Thomas Tapken, area vice president Dubai and Nothern Emirates told Hotelier: “I would say presently, in my region, out of 20 hotels, 17 have a project ongoing.”
