Parinaaz Navdar, September 15th, 2013

Hilton Worldwide has appointed Kamel Ajami as the company’s first country manager for Jordan.

Ajami brings more than three decades of industry experience to the newly created role, which will be central to the company’s growth and expansion strategy in the country.

As country manager, he will oversee all operational matters and support Hilton Worldwide’s growth plans in exploring new opportunities in Jordan.

Commenting on his appointment, Ajami said: “This is an exciting time to lead operations in Jordan and we welcome the news of increasing numbers of business and leisure travelers visiting the country. As a global organization, there is considerable scope for Hilton Worldwide to play its part in promoting Jordan’s great historical and cultural assets to a wider regional and overseas audience.”

Hilton Worldwide currently operates two properties in Jordan – the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre by Hilton, and the Hilton Aqaba – with three more properties in the pipeline.

Hilton Worldwide vice president of operations for Egypt and Levant Christian Muhr commented: “With a growing presence and profile in Jordan, the country is a key market for Hilton Worldwide’s Middle East & Africa region. Kamel’s experience and knowledge will be invaluable in this new leadership role as we continue to set standards in operational excellence and quality service.
