Ramada Ajman to hold art competition for students

Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman has announced it will organise a not-for-profit art competition in association with the UAE Ministry of Education to raise environmental awareness among 100,000 students in the UAE’s northern emirates.

The competition will be open to students aged six to 12. Using the theme “Going Green: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”, the paintings submitted by students should illustrate how children can contribute to environmental conservation the reduce, reuse and recycle approach.

Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman general manager Iftikhar Hamdani said: “We would like to thank the UAE Ministry of Education and our sponsors for supporting our green initiatives. This art competition aims to raise awareness and encourage youth involvement in taking care of the planet and we look forward to the active participation of the schools, along with the support of the other organisations in making this art competition a success.”

The art competition will run from October 1 to 30 2013 at various schools in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah.

The entries will be judged based on creativity, originality and relevance to theme and three winners each from two categories will be felicitated at an award ceremony on November 27 at the hotel.
