The Capital Club Dubai is to host the first UAE event from the Non-Violence Project, a global initiative that works to counter the use of violence as a method of conflict resolution supported by celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney, Lionel Messi and Yoko Ono.

Titled ‘Tomorrow' s Leaders: Warriors or Peace Negotiators?’ the event will be held on September 22, 2013 and give the audience an opportunity to learn more about the Non-Violence Project’s history and various programmes.

Commenting on Capital Club’s association with the organisation, general manager Emma Cullen said: “The global prevalence of violence, particularly amongst the youth, is one of the biggest challenges that the world faces today, which is why empowering the younger generation to find non-violent solutions to the countless conflict ridden situation they face is so vitally important. For this reason we are both extremely pleased and excited to be able to welcome the Non-Violence Project to Dubai.”

“Their programmes are making a tangible difference in the way young people interact with each other and the world at large and we look forward to seeing their positive influence on the people of the UAE and the region,” she added.

Since its establishment, the Non-Violence Project has empowered more than five million students, teachers and sports coaches in 20 countries to find non-violent solutions to modern day challenges. The organisation will soon be opening its first office in the MENA region in Dubai.
