InnovationZ Hospitality Group, developer of the upcoming Marjan Island Resort & Spa in Ras Al Khaimah, has outlined the resort’s La’mar spa facilities.
Built on the manmade Marjan island in Ras Al Khaimah, site of the recently shelved Real Madrid branded resort, the property is to feature 305 guest rooms, 155 vacation suites, a selection of dining and is due to be completed before the end of 2013. The resort will also have two beachfronts, a 1km Corniche boardwalk and 100 meters of beach.
The La’mar Spa is to feature male and female fitness clubs, a private wellness lounge and 1000 square meters of treatment space offering hammam rituals, steam and sauna rooms, as well as two indoor activity pools.
Part of the spa experience, the resort will also have a dedicated La’mar Spa Retreat Floor with rooms and suites measuring from 35 to 120 square meters. All rooms are to have a sea view and serviced by dedicated ‘spa butlers’.
During a recent Q&A session with Hotelier Middle East, InnovationZ Hospitality Group CEO Robert Zogbi also revealed the details of the developer’s next hospitality project, the Korek Mountain Resort & Spa in the Kurdistan Province of northern Iraq.

When is the resort set to open?
The soft opening of the mountain villas at the resort are scheduled for December 2013 before the first snow and in time for the ski season. The resort is equipped with a ski rental shop for full skiing gear, while there are dedicated slopes for children and beginners serviced by carpet-style ski lifts. Future expansion plans include the addition of ski lifts for intermediate ski slopes that will range from 1690 to 2000 meters.
Who are you hoping to target with the new resort?
Our primary target audiences are the regional families and couples who are eeking a mountain leisure escape and vacation, including those living in Kurdistan Province and the Iraqis from Bagdad, Mosul and other Iraqi cities. Our secondary audience is the international expatriate community living in Erbil City (US, British and other European expatriates) plus the Kurds immigrants living abroad in Turkey, Europe and around the world. A future audience will be GCC nationals and western expatriates on the look-out for unique mountain scenery with a rich and ancient culture.
