Wyndham to launch Hawthorn Suites brand in ME

Parinaaz Navdar, October 2nd, 2013

Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the signing of the first Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham property in the Middle East.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Dubai, owned by R Hotels, which recently announced an AED 1.5 billion investment plan, will be located in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence area.

The 188-room property will feature studio apartments, one and two-bedroom suites and a penthouse overlooking the beach and the Dubai Marina.

Facilities will include in-room kitchenettes, an all day dining restaurant, a coffee shop, 24-hour room service, wireless internet access, an outdoor swimming pool, separate male and female spa areas, gym and meeting rooms, and free parking.

Wyndham Hotel Group’s senior vice president and managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Rui Barros said: “We are seeing increased demand for hotel products which allow guests to maintain their routines with a home away from home. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham caters perfectly to this audience, while also providing the additional space and flexibility required by many families travelling to Dubai from across the Gulf.”

R Hotels managing director Sumair Tariq added: “Jumeriah Beach Residences is an amazing destination and our new property will offer a refreshing hospitality experience for our guests. It is fantastic to open our second property in less than a year with Wyndham Hotel Group and R Hotels continues to focus on key locations in line with expansion strategies. We are looking forward to providing our guests with yet another wonderful hotel experience with Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Dubai.”

The announcement comes just months after Wyndham Hotel Group’s recent announcement to introduce both the company’s upper-upscale, namesake Wyndham Hotels and Resort brand and its select-service TRYP by Wyndham brand to the region over the next few years.

Wyndham currently operates 36 hotels under four Wyndham Hotel Group brands in the Middle East.
