Samsung Gulf Electronics has signed up as silver sponsor of the Hotelier Middle East Awards, which will be held at the JW Marriott Marquis on October 30, 2013.
Now in its ninth year, the Hotelier Middle East Awards will award stalwarts of the industry in 19 different categories, including the coveted Team of the Year category.
Commenting on Samsung’s association with the event, Samsung Gulf Electronics acting HOD – IT sales group, Manoj Ghai said: “The Hotelier Middle East Awards night is the perfect platform to promote Samsung’s innovative technologies such as interactive televisions and hospitality display units. The UAE, especially has a high concentration of luxurious hotels offering world class facilities and this includes state of the art technology.”
Guests at the event will have the opportunity to experience Samsung’s range of LED display units for the hospitality segment. A range of solutions will be on display with demonstrations on how these enhance the hotel guest and in- house staff experience.
The company has launched a new range of in room televisions for the hospitality industry. According to Ghai, the Smart TV series allows quick access to content, easy multitasking and viewing recommendations to suit guests, which he believes meet guests’ demands for better connectivity.
“A greater demand for connectivity has led to increased integration of hotel technology with guest’s personal devices such as mobiles, laptops and tablets. We are also seeing 3D technology being used more and more in guest rooms and this will become the norm for the industry in no time at all,” said Ghai.
“A major trend within the hospitality industry is that hotels are promoting the ultimate experience rather than product. This includes personalised customer service as well as state of the art technology, which helps to put the guest at the heart of the experience,” he added.
The new collection features Samsung’s HB670 and HB690 series LED hospitality TVs designed with super slim bezels that use minimal space and are compatible with content management, security and guest services.
Samsung has also launched a remote enhanced active control for hospitality (REACH), which offers a user interface and editing tool that allows content such as programme guides, property logos, hotel information and images to be updated either remotely through the advanced SIRCH device or through USB cloning on a room by room basis, on existing coaxial networks without the need of any additional set-top-box.
The content can all be controlled using the Samsung interactive remote control for hospitality (SIRCH), which allows hotels to manage a fleet of displays from one central location via air broadcast.
