The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has announced its first mystery guest programme to test the performance of the hotels and tourism services across the emirate, reports The National.
The ATDD has signed an agreement with a hotel consultancy company to provide inspectors to visit hotels posing as guests in order to evaluate hotel classification standards as approved by the Ajman government, and provide recommendations on the failure of any hotel to adhere to those standards.
Engy Munir Attiyah, the head of ATDD’s Classification Section which will supervise the project is reported to have said: “Within a few months, specialised research on the standards of a mystery shopper will be finalised in accordance with the highest technically and scientifically applied rules.”
“An action plan on upgrading the current status of a number of hotel establishments would follow,” she added.
