The locally inspired, community-based initiative, the Farmers’ Market on the Terrace, will return for its fifth season at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai on Friday 29 November 2013.
Baker & Spice Dubai food consultant Yael Mejia, also the Farmers’ Market champion, said: “By purchasing fruit and vegetables at the market, not only are you getting the freshest produce possible, there is a good variety.
"You can feed your family with quality ingredients for the week at considerably less cost than you would spend in the supermarket. In addition, you are doing your bit for the environment, reducing the carbon footprint, and supporting an ethical practice.”
Local farmers include Showaib Farm Al Ain, Rashed Farm Al Ain, Organiliciouz Sharjah, Organic Land, BTC, Integrated Green Resources Abu Dhabi & Dubai.
Visitors can buy organic produce including vegetables, eggs, honey, jams, bread, cakes, beans, pulses and rice. Baker & Spice Dubai will have fresh breads, cakes, jams, curds, compotes and chutneys on display alongside breakfast - homemade sausages and baked beans with eggs in homemade pitta bread.
Down to Earth Organic Foods will showcase pulses, rice, herbs and spices along with teas and chutneys. Coffee Planet will also be on hand for an early morning caffeine boost with locally roasted organic coffee.
Throughout the UAE’s growing season the market will continue every Friday from 9am - 1pm until the end of the season in May.
The market is located next to the Boulevard, Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
