The general manager of Conrad Dubai, Mario Ferraro, is leaving the new Hilton Worldwide property to join Marriott International, having only opened the luxury hotel in September.
Ferraro, who took the helm of Conrad Dubai in early 2012 and led the pre-opening of the 555-room hotel, located on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, is set to return to his native Italy for the opening of the JW Marriott Venice.
He previously worked for 25 years in Italy before taking on the role at Conrad, his first posting in Dubai.

Ferraro will be replaced by Andreas Jersabeck, general manager at Hilton Doha since April 2013, following roles with Hilton in Ukraine and Croatia.
Hilton Worldwide would not comment on the details of the senior level movement when contacted by Hotelier.
However, Jersabeck said he was already gearing up to support Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) in January 2014.
“Conrad Dubai is pleased to welcome guests who have come for the internationally acclaimed Dubai Shopping Festival, now in its 18th year,” said Jersabeck.

Conrad Dubai opened on September 18, 2013, marking the debut of the Conrad Hotels and Resorts brand in the GCC, and held its official launch party on November 21.
The hotel, home to several international F&B brands including Izel and Purobeach, as well as the Marco Pierre White Grill, was billed as an “ambassador” for the brand by Ferraro.
Conrad Dubai, originally slated to open in 2011, is owned by PPM, Private Property Management, Abu Dhabi.
