Oman Ministry of Tourism has partnered with Oman Air and a selection of the country's hotels to launch a range of holiday package called ‘Oman Short Breaks’, in a bid to attract more visitors from the GCC.
The packages include return flights on Oman Air and accommodation at a list of deluxe hotels in Muscat and Salalah and will be available during the spring and summer season.
Speaking at the launch event, Oman Ministry of Tourism director general of tourism promotion Ghasi Humaid Al Hashmi said: “The Oman Ministry of Tourism, in association with the several key players in the travel and tourism sector, is aggressively promoting the Sultanate as an attractive global tourist destination.
“Through our strategic partnership with Oman Air, we have been able to create tremendous awareness about tourism options in Oman, which has generated fruitful results.” He added.
Oman Air country manager Masoud Al-Balushi added: “Oman is an ideal holiday destination for tourists from both the Middle East region and further afield, and Oman Air is the perfect way to travel there. We are therefore delighted to join with the Ministry of Tourism to launch ‘Oman Short Breaks’, which will, over the space of just a few days, provide holiday-makers with a wonderful opportunity to explore Oman’s many popular tourist destinations and enjoy a memorable Omani experience.”
It was recently predicted by a range of hospitality experts that Oman's tourism industry is set to grow by six to eight percent annually until 2017.
Oman Air currently operates seven daily flights from Dubai to Muscat, four daily flights from Dubai to Salalah, and three daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Muscat.
