FRHI Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to open seven new hotels and resorts, representing more than 1300 guestrooms, in 2014.
The parent company of luxury and upscale hotel brands Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, FRHI new properties in the Middle East will include the 287-key Fairmont Riyadh, Business Gate, a mixed use development project, which will include a hotel, convention centre, and commercial real estate space.
In the UAE, the Fairmont Ajman is to feature 252 guestrooms and suites, including two penthouses. Dining options will include an all-day dining outlet, a lobby lounge, and a Turkish restaurant, while the hotel will offer 21,528 metres of indoor function space as well as outdoor meeting facilities.
FRHI president and COO Michael Glennie said: “Expansion is a key strategic priority at FRHI, and we have aggressive development plans in place to achieve our projected target of 50% growth over the next five years. Growing our brands with the right product, in the right markets is a key part of our development strategy, so we’re very excited to be entering or increasing our presence in a number of top worldwide locations this year.”
Other hotels due to open in 2014 include a 180-key Raffles Istanbul, and a 138-key Swissotel Bodrum Beach in Turkey; a 180-room Raffles Jakarta; as well as a 166-key Swissotel Sochi Krasnaya Polyana and 203-key Swissotel Sochi Kamelia, which are due to open in time for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
FRHI also has a number of hotel development projects underway in markets like Russia, Indonesia, India, and China, all set to open over the next five years.
