Steigenberger Hotel Group is to bring its InterCityHotel hotel brand to the UAE for the first time with the opening of the InterCityHotel Culture Village in 2016.
The project is to be part of the planned Dubai Culture Village development next to Dubai creek and within easy reach of the leisure and entertainment facilities at Dubai Festival City. Dubai Culture Village is being built by Dubai Properties Group, and will also contain the delayed Palazzo Versace Dubai.
Steigenberger Hotel Group CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: "The Middle East represents the next stage in our expansion strategy. The hotel we are planning in Dubai will establish us in a new market and enable us to pursue ongoing global growth."
The InterCityHotel Culture Village will contain 150 double rooms 65 serviced apartments, a restaurant and bistro lounge, as well as a conference centre and spa area.
Steigenberger Hotel Group’s two hotel brands are Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and InterCityHotel, with Steigenberger Hotels’ portfolio containing 98 hotels in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Egypt and China, including 13 establishments that are under construction or in the planning phase.
