Poll respondents split on kids in 5-star hotels

According to a poll conducted by luxury travel website TravelerVIP.com, almost half the respondents said children under the age of 10 should not be allowed in five-star hotels.

Of the 2000 people in Saudi Arabia and UAE who were polled, 52% were happy with the presence of children in luxury hotels, while 48% thought five-star properties are only for adults.

42% of Saudi Arabian respondents voted yes to sharing five-star hotel experiences with children, whilst 62% of UAE respondents were in favour of children at hotels.

While male and female responses were evenly split, other findings from the survey showed that respondents who were married without children were more likely to say yes (57%) than those couples who had children (55%).

Single respondents were the most likely to want children to stay away from five-star hotels, with 56% voting no.

Commenting on the poll, TravelerVIP.com editor-in-chief Jill Lambert said: “We were fascinated to see the results of this poll as so many respondents wanted children out of their hotel experience. We expected that some people would want to exclude families with children, but were overwhelmed to see an almost 50-50 split.”
