Chef de cuisine joins The Forge at Ritz-Carlton

Argentinean native Gerardo Recabarren is the new chef de cuisine at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal’s steakhouse, The Forge.

As chef de cuisine, Recabarren will lead a team of six chefs and will be responsible for menu development and driving guest engagement at the hotel’s signature restaurant.

Prior to joining The Forge, Recabarren was based in the US, where he first worked as a sous chef at Steeplechase restaurant in Florida, before moving to North Dakota to gain experience at an all-day dining restaurant.

Recabarren began his career in his native Argentina, where he started as a trainee and rose through the ranks to chef de partie. In 2006, he joined the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes as chef tournant, before taking on his first supervisory role at JW Marriott Dubai.
