Two five star hotels managed by Jumeirah Group will form the centre piece of Oman’s newest Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC).
Saraya Bandar Jissah is located on the outskirts of Muscat on a secluded beach surrounded by the Hajar Mountains. The destination will be built on 2.2mn m2 of land with an expansive beachfront and a high point of 250 metres.
The complex is being developed in partnership between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman’s tourism development and investment arm, Omran and Saraya Oman.
Gerald Lawless, Jumeirah Group president and CEO said: “The unique location of these stunning hotels encapsulates the beauty and history of Oman and will offer an unparalleled vacation experience within the region. For the people of Oman, the resort will provide the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life providing an idyllic retreat right on their doorstep.”
Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan AL Hosani, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah commented: “We are honoured to welcome H.H Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said to our project site. This second stage of construction reflects Saraya Bandar Jissah’s commitment to the development of a world class touristic destination in the beautiful natural surroundings of Oman. Over the past years we have been engaged in the preparatory works on site to ensure the future smooth flow of construction and timely delivery of an operational resort destination for residents to enjoy from day one.”
A ceremony to celebrate the launch of the second stage of construction was held at the site under the auspices of the Honorable H.H Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, Representative to His Majesty, in the presence of members of the Omani royal family, ministers, undersecretaries and business leaders who were welcomed by Saraya Bandar Jissah board members and CEO.
Saraya Bandar Jissah is the first ITC to launch since 2007. Promoted as Oman’s newest luxury address, this US $600mn project is taking shape on site. The first phase will complete in 2017 delivering both Jumeirah hotels, recreational facilities and residential neighbourhoods.
