Ramada Downtown reaches out to Central Europe

The Ramada Downtown Dubai has hosted a delegation of 12 travel agents from Slovakia in an attempt to build awareness of the city in Central Europe.

While Slovakia is currently a small market, general manager Samir Arora, who joined the hotel in November 2013, believes it has the potential to develop and become an important part of the customer mix.

“The UAE recently announced visa on arrival for 13 European Union countries including Slovakia that will bring in more visitors from the country and therefore provides us the perfect opportunity to step into this market," said Arora.

“The Dubai visitor mix is growing more multi-national as air connections are expanded, and this represents healthy business for hotels in the city, enabling us to have diverse clientele and ensure we are not reliant on just one country or sector.

“While Asia and South America are noted as potential emerging markets, we will always enjoy business from Europe, and Slovakia represents a fantastic new opportunity.”

During their stay at the hotel, the agents were able to visit local attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountains and Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.

They were also able to familiarise themselves with some of the features of the hotel, including its suites, views and pool and gym facilities.
