Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa on Jumeirah Beach is to undergo an extensive renovation from next month, with the first phase set to be completed by the end of August.

The six-month project will begin on June 28 to coincide with the start of Ramadan, taking advantage of what is traditionally a quieter period for the industry.

Work will start on the lobby first, with a new contemporary design and “quintessentially luxurious Arabic touch”. The central concepts will be a desert flower chandelier and water feature, whilst there will also be special areas for tour operators, as well as a lounge entrance and relaxation zone for early arrivals and late departures.

The five-star resort will also renovate its meeting rooms with designs and facilities that will ensure thee is a professional, corporate environment for business meetings and conferences. These projects should be completed by the end of August.

In addition, 104 of the hotel’s deluxe resort rooms will be completely redesigned and ready for occupation in stages by October. The facelift will include new carpets, furnishings and colour schemes throughout, as well as modern upholstery, 42-inch flat screen HD TVs, luxurious bedding and brand new bathrooms.

“We have spent a considerable amount of time with designers, architects and a host of other professionals to reposition the property and ensure every part of the resort refurbishment is to an extremely high standard,” said Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa general manager Peter O’Connor.

“We’re all very excited by this project which will take the property to a new level, and we are certain our guests will love the new look of the resort.”

Externally, the resort’s gardens will have a completely new look, including new landscaping with a tropical and beach atmosphere, an area with lounge seating and pergolas, plus cascading water features and sculptures.

Al Dhiyafa, the resort’s all day dining restaurant, will receive an urban and modern design approach, with a suspended shelving concept offering international gourmet cuisine with an open kitchen, pizza oven and pastry making station.

A new, exclusive club lounge on the 25th floor will also open, with its own dedicated check-in reception, bar and exclusive lounge area.
