Jumeirah Restaurants managing director and Jumeirah's The Restaurant Group general manager Jason Myers is to leave the company at the end of June. He will join London-based Thai restaurant brand Busaba Eathai as its new CEO from July 7.

Myers has been with Jumeirah for two years and during his time has overseen the setting up of Jumeirah's standalone F&B division, The Restaurant Group (previously known as Jumeirah Restaurant & Bars, or RnB) along with Jumeirah senior VP F&B Gert Kopera. He was also responsible for the worldwide operations of Jumeirah's F&B brands.

Myers said: "The past two-and -half-years working with Jumeirah Group have been incredibly rewarding, both professionally and personally. It has been an honour to work with a world class market leader to be able to play a pivotal role in what has been an important chapter in the group’s evolution.

“It is with great pride and fondness that I will look back on my time at Jumeirah, and I look forward to seeing the success and further growth of R&B, as it embarks on an incredibly new and exciting stage of its development.”

His work in the F&B industry in the region led him to landing the number one spot in the Caterer Middle East Power 50 list and he was recently included in the Arabian Business Top 50 influential Brits list in the UAE.

Kopera will continue to lead the standalone restaurant division with further support from director of restaurant operations Peter Avram and Jumeirah Restaurants director of operations Emma Banks.

Myers commented on his new appointment: "I am extremely excited to be joining Busaba Eathai, to work with the excellent Busaba team, to continue the growth of these fantastic restaurants both in the UK and internationally."
