TripAdvisor has teamed up with eCornell, Cornell University's subsidiary for online education, to offer hospitality professionals a free online reputation management course.
The course, titled 'Managing your Online Reputation with TripAdvisor', teaches best practice and strategies for capitalising on a hotel’s online reputation.
TripAdvisor head of industry relations Brian Payea said: “As travel planning and booking become more dependent on online traveller reviews and opinions, online reputation management is paramount for property owners.
"We are committed to helping businesses maximise their presence on TripAdvisor, which is why we partnered with eCornell to bring free, world-class educational content to hospitality professionals around the world."
The three-hour course leverages research from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and faculty insights to offer hoteliers guidance and learn best practices on how to monitor and improve a property's online reputation.
The course focuses on building strategies and action plans for reputation management that ultimately drive bookings and revenue.
Topics explored include explaining the importance of online reputation to colleagues and peers, responding to customer feedback, and incorporating customer feedback into day-to-day operations.
eCornell vice president of content and partnerships Chad Oliveiri added: "Together, eCornell and the School of Hotel Administration have been providing professional development and training for hoteliers for more than a decade.
“Our courses in marketing, social media, brand management, and reputation management all enable hotels and travel organisations to drive more bookings and increase revenues, so this partnership with TripAdvisor is a natural fit."
