Al Diar Siji Hotel is to promote Fujairah as an emerging banquet and conference destination at the Gulf Incentive Business Travel and Meeting Exhibition 2008.

The five-star business property, managed by Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), is to present its facilities at the event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), April 8-10.

"We will be promoting Al Diar Siji Hotel and Fujairah not only for tourism activities, but also as an ideal destination for banquets and conferences," said the hotel's general manager Fouad Melhem.

The property offers a range of conference and banqueting facilities, including the Masafi Ballroom - accommodating 500 banquet guests and 700 cocktail guests - the Al Majlis Executive Lounge and a 110-seat auditorium for video and film viewing.

The increase in foreign tourists to Fujairah and a surge in occupancy rates witnessed in 2007, along with current developments meant that the emirate had big potential in terms of hosting banquets and conferences, according to Melhem.

"As more and more developments happen in Fujairah, including the Dubai-Fujairah highway -which once finished will cut the travel time between the two Emirates to just 45 minutes - with its mountains, waterfalls and long beaches, not to mention the other hotels opening soon, Fujairah will be the next best alternative conferencing and banqueting destination in the UAE," he concluded.
