Shangri-La Abu Dhabi fills sales and events roles

Shangri-La Hotel and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi have appointed Tamer Refaat and Matthias Emperhoff to the positions of director of sales and director of events management respectively.

Refaat joins the complex from a five-star luxury property in Dubai, where he held a post as assistant director of sales.

The Egyptian-national, who holds a Bachelor of Arts diploma from Zagazig University, has also been a business development manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai.

Meanwhile, Emperhoff joins from Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Oman, where he held a similar position for more than two years. He was previously director of catering and groups in Germany and Qatar for two years.

Born and raised in Germany, Emperhoff has extensive hospitality experience in catering management in various hotel chains in Europe and the Middle East.

“Having them on board, I am confident that our established Abu Dhabi properties will achieve greater results amid the highly competitive market,” said aid General Manager Arbind K. Shrestha.
