Carlson Rezidor signs four hotels in Saudi Arabia

Carlson Rezidor expanded its Middle East pipeline in the second quarter of this year with the addition of four more properties in Saudi Arabia.

The properties were among 11 new projects signed across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, adding a combined 2200 rooms to the company’s portfolio.

The only new-build among the signed properties in Saudi Arabia is Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Jeddah Corniche, which will open in the first quarter of 2017. It will have 100 guestrooms and 60 serviced apartments, as well as 700 square metres of meeting and conference space, a 250 square metre health club and spa, a 240 square metre all-day dining and an outdoor pool.

Among the other properties is Radisson Blu Red Sea Palace Hotel, set to open in Jeddah in the current quarter. The company is taking over a historic 261-room hotel which has more than 300 square metres of meeting space, a 124 square metre fitness centre and gym as well as a club lounge.

Meanwhile, Radisson Blu Plaza Residence, Jeddah will be another converted property; featuring 120 serviced apartments and located in the developing commercial and residential district of Salihiyah, it is set to open in the first quarter of 2015.

Finally, Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh Nasiriyah will open in the fourth quarter of 2015 and will be another conversion of an existing property. It will be close to the high-end retail, commercial and diplomatic districts of Olaya and the Diplomatic Quarter.

During the second quarter of this year, the company opened the Radisson Blu Hotel Dhahran, its first property in the Saudi city.

Catering to leisure and business travellers, it has 74 suites and is situated on Zaid Ibn Al Khattab Street in the heart of the city.
