Arenco to develop two more Palm Jumeirah resorts

Arenco Real Estate is to develop two more resorts on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, with a combined total of 653 keys.

The company, a subsidiary of A. A. Al Moosa Enterprises, has awarded China State Construction Engineering Co (CSCEC) two contracts to construct the properties on the manmade island.

Situated on adjoining plots, they will be five-star resort hotels of around 100,000 square metres each. They will both contain a basement, ground, 13 upper floors and a roof area. In total, the developments will house 592 standard rooms, 57 two-bay and three-bay suites as well as a presidential suite.

The projects will take 940 days to complete, including all civil works, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, external works and finishes.

In a statement, CSCEC said that these latest wins were "another important march into the luxury hotel market".

It is already building (and is a co-investor in) the $1bn Palm Viceroy Hotel and recently completed the Southern Sun hotel building in Abu Dhabi for Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's company, DAS Holding.

CSCEC, which is the world's third-biggest contractor, said the successful completion of both projects would help to boost its brand and reputation in the region.Arenco owns a number of hotels across the UAE, including Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort, Crowne Plaza Muscat and Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road.
