Doner & Gyros opens first two branches in Dubai

A street food eatery that offers two specialities from Berlin and Chicago - döner and gyros - has opened in two locations in Dubai.

Launched by the Naseeb Group, Döner & Gyros’ first two branches are located in Al Barsha Mall and Dubai Marina.

"Those who have travelled to Germany and Chicago and tasted a doner and a gyro, from these cities, would agree that it is well worth travelling to these destinations, just for a taste of Berlin and a bite of Chicago," said Döner & Gyros operations manager Darryl Poulton.

He continued: “We wanted to bring that experience to the UAE and perfect the delicacy that has become famous street food in other parts of the world, for any time of the day.”

Chicago-based chef Michael Markellos and Berlin-based chef Gul Fahrettin worked on creating the gyros and doner recipes respectively for the restaurant.

“Our sandwiches and side orders are nutritionally healthier than ordinary fast food outlets as the highest ISO quality meat is used (imported) while fresh produce is sourced locally to enhance sustainability. We also use lean meat which automatically reduces the carbohydrate value in each meal,” added Poulton.

Further branches are scheduled to launch within the coming months across the UAE, including DIFC, Abu Dhabi and further afield in the Middle East and Russia.
