Accor Hotelservices Middle East has signed a management agreement Indian real estate developer Hiranandani Group for a 350-room Ibis Styles hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay.
Located alongside Business Bay Canal, the property is currently being designed and construction is expected to be completed by mid-2016.
With views over Downtown Dubai, the hotel will have 350 modern-designed rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and bar, lobby lounge, swimming pool, fitness centre, and up to three meeting rooms.
Accor is looking to attract the leisure segment from Downtown Dubai and the corporate segment from the Business Bay area.
“Dubai’s Tourism 2020 aims to bring in 20 million visitors every year, and we are well-placed as regional leader in the midscale and economy segments to capitalize on the increasing demand this will create,” said Accor Hotelservices Middle East COO Christophe Landais.
“This signature fits perfectly into our strategy of strengthening our leadership in mid-market segments.”
The hotel will be located next to the bridge currently being built to connect Business Bay to the Downtown area. It brings the total number of Accor properties under development in the Middle East to 31.
Combined with the 65 hotels already under operations, it means the company is fast approaching its target of 100 properties within three years.
Hiranandani Group MD Darshan Hiranandani said: “We are pleased to have signed an agreement with Accor HotelServices Middle East, a prominent international hotel operator with significant expertise in the region.
“The Ibis Styles brand is ideally positioned to take advantage of the growing demand for midscale and economy hotel rooms in Dubai.”
