Sheraton Jumeirah Beach gets food safety certs

Devina Divecha, August 5th, 2014

The Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort has successfully received the ISO 22000:2005 and HACCP certifications, having held the latter for the last six years.

The ISO 22000 incorporates HACCP principles and is compatible with ISO 9001 quality management systems, making it the ideal basis for implementing a comprehensive, cost effective food safety management system.

The FSMS implementation & HACCP upgradation project was initiated in November 2013 with the slogan 'Promising & Delivering Safe Quality Food', and the hotel received it in less than six months.

"We are particularly proud to have obtained ISO 22000:2005 certification as well as be compliant with HACCP standards. Food safety is one of our top priorities. We will pursue our goal of having the best food safety management system in place," said Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort general manager Dany Dagher.

The certificates were issued by TUV NORD Middle East and are valid for three years.

The ISO 22000:2005 connects the requirements of HACCP and QMS ISO 9001; it manages the quality assurance and food safety system, not only through processes, but also through the entire operational activities within an organisation.
