UAE-based Citymax Hotels has confirmed that it expects three properties currently under development across the country to be completed by 2017, adding 700 rooms to its portfolio.

New hotels are planned for Business Bay in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, while an additional tower will be built at Citymax Hotels Al Barsha. All three developments have been previously reported by Hotelier Middle East.

The properties will have a similar look and will each incorporate features such as a roof top pool, bar and sun deck. Room interiors are currently under design and will all be an average of 25 square metres in size.

“With mid-market hotel development high on the agenda for both government and private sectors in the UAE, Citymax Hotels is currently expanding its successful business model within the UAE with plans to reach out into the GCC in the next few years,” said Citymax COO Russel Sharpe.

Citymax Hotels Al Barsha will welcome a new tower, close to the existing tower, by 2016. It will feature 120 rooms with City Cafe – the all day dining restaurant concept for the group plus one additional Bar. Integrated into the existing operation, guests staying at either hotel will be able to dine in the various outlets and charge it to their room.

The next to open will be Citymax Hotels Ras Al Khaimah, centrally located by the creek in the Al Nakheel area of the city. Close to Manar Mall and 15 minutes from RAK Airport, it will cater to both business and leisure travellers with meeting rooms restaurants, roof top swimming pool and exclusive beach access.

By 2017, the new property located in Business Bay will also be completed. It will have three restaurants and bars, as well as meeting rooms and extensive banqueting facilities.
