Rotana enhances Omanisation efforts in Salalah

Parinaaz Navdar, August 12th, 2014

Salalah Rotana Resort is expanding its team by recruiting Omani nationals through the group’s Duroob programme, which aims to increase the rate of Omanisation at the resort.

The Duroob programme is aimed at attracting local talent into the company and trying to develop them within their roles.

Salalah Rotana Resort general manager Claudio Melli explained: “We have put more initiatives in place to increase the search and recruitment of Omani citizens. Working in Salalah shares similarities with working in the GCC region, in that the government encourages its initiative to employ a minimum number of its citizen.

“The Omani government assists us with the designation of its citizen for certain specialised positions within various organisations including Salalah Rotana Resort.”

In addition to being a fast track development programme for locals, the programme also aims to address unemployment among citizens and provide the necessary training and work experience to understand the working environment.

The Omani government assists the resort’s HR team with potential candidates for consideration, while Salalah Rotana’s recruitment team also participate in recruitment days hosted by the Ministry of Manpower.
