Le Méridien Abu Dhabi has unveiled a new Greek restaurant in its portfolio, which will have its grand opening day on September 19.
The hotel general manager Nemo Acimovic said: "With a total of nine outlets, the launch of Acropolis reflects our commitment of offering to our guests a varied choice of quality dining options at Le Méridien Village. Acropolis will distinguish us in theAbu Dhabi restaurant landscape."
Acropolis' chef de cuisine is Valsamis Konstantinos, who is joining the hotel with more than 10 years' experience in Athens, Crete and Dubai.
The menu includes a variety of mezze like psari, mezzedakia, spitiko tzatziki; main courses offer gyros, mousaka, gemista and Greek desserts including siropiasta, karidopita and loukoumades.
Le Méridien Abu Dhabi executive chef Patrick Van Velzen, who worked and lived in Greece for more than eight years, said: "By importing the products straight from Greece, Acropolis is offering an authentic Greek convivial experience. We have collaborated a menu that reflects the friendliness and the generosity of the Greeks."
Its restaurant manager is Greek national Anastasios Zafeirakis, who said: "I am very happy to be able to give a taste of home to the Greek community in the Emirates. I miss home and I am sure they do too. I want Acropolis to be a place that will connect people from around the world with our hospitality."
Acropolis is replacing Le Bistrot restaurant, and the venue includes a spacious indoor and outdoor seating area facing the Centre Garden. Its interiors are in blue and white, and it also offers a live band from Greece playing traditional Greek music every evening.
