Four Seasons Hotel Doha has partnered with celebrity chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa to open the long-awaited Nobu Doha at the hotel by the end of the year.

Designed by the Rockwell Group, the 26,000 square metre the restaurant will have three levels and offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. It will feature an expansive 192-seat interior dining area, a 10-seat sushi counter, two private dining rooms, and an 82-seat roof top lounge with indoor and outdoor seating options.

River stone capped with bronze accents will form the exterior of the structure, resembling a coiled shell. The design will also incorporate elements from natural materials that reflect the cuisine as well as Doha’s culture, including its history of pearl diving.

The restaurant has been in development for some time, with reports going as far back as 2010 about its planning.

Four Seasons Hotel Doha general manager and regional vice president Rami Sayess said: “The collaboration between these two iconic brands will both compliment and enrich Four Seasons’ already superb amenities for our discerning guests, as well as redefine Doha’s culinary scene as the most coveted restaurant in the region for epicureans and travellers alike.”

Nobu Matsuhisa commented: “I'm very excited to finally open our second Nobu in the Middle East. It is an honour for me to be able to share my food and culture with different people around the world. I look forward to new challenges and adventures with the opening of Nobu Doha.”

Rockwell Group founder and president David Rockwell added: “We’re thrilled to be designing our studio’s first new build, freestanding Nobu restaurant in the world. The building’s organic form and prominent position on a peninsula will be a striking addition to Doha Bay.”
