Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates will next month open up 118 refurbished rooms, as it completed the third phase of the property’s extensive renovation programme.
The programme began in 2012 with the revamp of its lobby lounge, Aspen by Kempinski, and since them the lobby has been modernised, size of driveway doubled and Spanish restaurant Salero Tapas & Bodega opened. The hotel has also partnered with Vindemia to open the Fann-A-Porter art gallery.
Technology has been made a key feature of the refurbished rooms, with each one equipped with an iPad to allow guests to control their television, order room service, make a restaurant reservation, booking a spa treatment and access Mall of the Emirates information and live promotions.
There are plans to even allow the iPads to control the room’s curtains, air conditioning and lights.
“We are really excited to show our new rooms to our guests and get the first feedback on our fresh look and innovative technology,” said Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates general manager Konstantin Zeuke.
“Even though the hotel is only eight years old, we are lucky to be able to propose a fresh room design for our guests with the latest technology and artistic designs.
“We made sure to support local Emirati talents when choosing the art in the rooms and each piece has been picked carefully to show the best from the region with styles ranging from dramatic to joyful art.”
Room interiors feature contemporary designs mixed with Arabic touches, paying homage to the region. The sharp lines and ice-blue silver of the abstract paintings, cushions and cosy sofa in the living room add an ambient touch, while the rooms are completed with silver bedding and modern crystal chandeliers.
