Warwick International opens first Iraq property

Warwick International Hotels Group has signed a management contract with Al Ebaa Company to operate a new hotel in Iraq.

The Babylon Warwick Hotel, Baghdad, is a conversion property, located along the Tigris, opposite the US Embassy.

The hotel comprises 300 keys, including four duplex suites. Facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, three conference rooms, six restaurants, and a cigar bar.

Commenting on the new opening, Warwick International Hotels vice president and CEO for the MENA region Jamal Serhan said: “Warwick International Hotels’ ambition for the Middle East region is to reach a network of 15 hotels by 2016.

"We are proud to have a new landmark hotel in MENA region; this will reinforce the awareness of Warwick brand and will benefit all WIH hotels. Our presence in the GCC will be soon improved with the opening of the Warwick Doha Hotel.”

Warwick International Hotels currently has eight operational hotels in the Middle East – two in Jordan, three in Lebanon, and one each in the UAE, Iraq, and Qatar. The group operates a network of 55 hotels around the world.
