Luxury operator Kempinksi will launch its flagship resort, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha on December 1.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski will be the European operator’s second hotel in Qatar in seventh in the GCC, with further Middle East hotels to open in the coming year: Kempinski Al-Othman Hotel Al Khobar, Kempinski Hotel Summerland Beirut and the long-awaited Emerald Palace Kempinksi Hotel Palm Jumeirah, all of which are set for a 2015 opening.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski is located on its own island at The Pearl-Qatar. It offers 281 rooms and suites, and meeting-conference facilities, including a ballroom, measuring 1,100 square metres (11,538 square feet).
The property has an exclusive beach located in a private bay, along with outdoor swimming pools, water sports facilities, a 3000 square metre (32291.7 square feet) spa by Clarins, a tennis court and yacht jetties.
Commenting on the soft opening of the property, general manager Wissam Suleiman said: “This is an important milestone as we anticipate welcoming our first guests this coming December and the wider community in Qatar, as our facilities progressively open.
“Our new waterfront destination showcases the finest of European luxury, heritage and architecture blended with traditional Arabian elements. From the opulent and grand rooms and suites, to our remarkable service standards, this hotel is set to become a benchmark for bespoke luxury in Qatar and the wider region.”
The F&B outlets at Marsa Malaz Kempinski will be completed early next year.
Guests will have the choice of six restaurants, two cafes, an outdoor beach restaurant, a lounge and a rooftop lounge with open-air terrace.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski is a ten-minute drive from West Bay, the central business district, and a 30-minute drive from the new Hamad International Airport.
The new resort is also closely located to entertainment and shopping facilities at the Porto Arabia and Medina Centrale districts of The Pearl-Qatar. Other attractions such as Katara Cultural Village, Doha Golf Club and Lagoona Mall are within proximity.
