Four Points by Sheraton team cycles for charity

A team of 30 staff from Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road and Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai cycled 50 kilometres for a charity bike ride. 

The team raised AED9000 (US $2450) for UNICEF as part of a campaign in which Starwood properties collective raise funds for the global charity.

This year, the group hopes to raise more than $700,000 to help UNICEF reach 2.1 million people living in poverty in Somalia and provide them safe water and sanitation by 2015. 

Commenting on the event, Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road and Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai complex general manager Erik Vedsegaard said: “It was an incredible journey, which tested even the best of the riders. But they did it for charity."

The hotels have decided to hold the cycling fundraiser as an annual event to continue raising money for UNICEF.
