Asia De Cuba makes UAE debut at St Regis Abu Dhabi

Crystal Chesters, December 1st, 2014

US restaurant, Asia De Cuba has made its UAE debut at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi on the capital’s corniche.

The concept is designed to have a ‘vibrant, upbeat atmosphere’ with a menu featuring the brand’s signature modern Chino-Latino cuisine.

CEO of Roya International, Ahmed Ramdan, the hospitality solutions company welcoming Asia de Cuba into the region, commented: “With our unparalleled expertise and portfolio of hospitality services in the region, we are very pleased to be taking on a brand recognised worldwide, and introducing this popular concept to the Abu Dhabi market.

“We believe this up-scale, vibrant, contemporary eatery answers the demand from a multicultural community with a cultured palate, who have appetite for an innovative menu and dramatic surroundings.”

In addition to the restaurant and lounge, the restaurant will feature beach club areas.

The brand’s cuisine is rooted in the Asian influence on Cuban food and culture from Havana's Chinatown, ‘El Barrio Chino de la Habana’, one of the oldest and largest in Latin America; by drawing on this cross-cultural influence, Asia de Cuba aims to create a style of food entirely of its own.

Some of the concept’s most celebrated dishes are, dumplings de enchilado de cangrejo, Cuban seafood stew, shrimp churros with coconut curry, cumin roasted lamb leg with maduros, yucca and black beans, rocoto miso glazed snapper with orange mojo, just to name a few.

Of the Abu Dhabi opening, Jeffrey Chodorow, founder of Asia de Cuba, said: “We are pleased to announce our expansion into the Middle East, and the introduction of our new creative culinary team spearheaded by Chef Luis Pous, with the upcoming launch of Asia de Cuba, Abu Dhabi.

“We’ve chosen a beautiful location that will incorporate our first beach club, making it the perfect hangout for day and night. Asia de Cuba is an institution throughout the USA and London, and we are incredibly excited to introduce the brand to the residents of the UAE.”

St. Regis Abu Dhabi opened last year and earlier this year launched its Presidential Suite suspended between the Nation Towers' 48th and 49th floors, more than 200 meters above the ground.
