Kempinski MOE sells 650m of Stollen for charity

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Mall of the Emirates have once again raised thousands for a local charity with their annual Stollen cake sale.

The partners raised AED54,000 (US $14,701) for Dubai Centre for Special Needs at is 9th Annual Stollen Charity Cake Sale, which featured a record 650 metres of Stollen.

The traditional cake was prepared by more than 30 chefs over the course of five weeks, with help from another 30 volunteers.

"Each year we search for ways to make the Stollen charity event even more successful!" said Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates general manager Konstantin Zeuke.

"It is great to see all the passion and hard work that goes into the annual event and I would like to thank everyone who took part and those who came down this weekend to help us raise funds for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs."

In addition to the centrepiece cake, the day featured a program of activities for the family, including a special visit from Santa Claus and dancing elves. Special needs students from the Dubai Centre for Special Needs shared samples of the delicious Stollen to visitors and encouraged everyone to take one home.

"The Stollen Charity Cake Sale is such a wonderful, spirited event that really kicks off the festive spirit at Mall of the Emirates, and we would like to thank the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, the volunteers and the wider community for coming out and supporting the charitable cause," said Mall of the Emirates associate director Hussain Moosa.

"We’re pleased to be creating great moments for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs, with much needed funds to provide a brighter future for its students."
