This is the fifth year for the hotels' humanitarian project, initiated in the UAE in 2009, which aims to open the door to specialised training of special needs students. Each year, the project receives between three and six Rashid Centre students in each of its hotels, selected by the centre’s management, to receive eight to ten months of training under the supervision of the its social assistance cell and the human resource department of the hotels.
Kinan Al Ghraoui, the general manager of all three hotels, said: “Villa Rotana, Rihab Rotana and Rimal Rotana are always committed to support young students with special needs and make sure that they become familiar with a real work environment. They are gaining professional skills that will help them get jobs in similar areas.
“Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana colleagues fully take the students under their wings and teach them everything they need to know. It's amazing how they embrace the students and maintain high expectations for them."
Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre general manager Mariam Othman added: “A proud moment for Villa, Rihab & Rimal and Rashid Center, today we celebrate our young graduates and we are extremely proud and content with this permanent cooperation of many years with Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana, by which our children acquire vocational skills to help them in the future with better job opportunities which will allow them to live with dignity when they graduate.
"The contribution of Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana in the rehabilitation of many students with special needs is indispensable as it helps the students in achieving a real integration with the entire society."
The completion of the training programme was followed by a graduation ceremony conducted by Villa Rotana, Rihab Rotana and Rimal Rotana organized under the patronage and presence of Mr. Abduljalil Musabah, board member of the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, where all the participants receive a graduation certificate from Rotana Hotels and Resorts.
