Ripe Market to return with extended edition

The Ripe Food and Craft Market will begin 2015 with an extended edition, and will be held at the Zabeel Park from January 1–3, 2015.

The weekend long organic food market, organised by the Dubai Municipality in co-ordination with Ripe Fresh, is also extended to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dubai Shopping Festival, offering visitors an alternative look at the city’s shopping options.

Ripe’ founder Becky Balderstone said, “The Ripe Market is a beautiful alfresco shopping venue and we’re really excited to be a part of the Dubai Shopping Festival to showcase the market and the city’s independent artisans and local businesses.”

The alfresco market will host a variety of traders, including artisans and small business owners, in a communi-ty-inspired setup. Visitors can expects stalls of everything from arts and crafts to fashion and jewellery, along with one-off handmade creations. Previously, Ripe representative had said that visitors will find items that can't be sourced in the markets and the prices will be maintained at a rate lower than in big supermarkets.
