Sofitel The Palm Dubai has received the Blue Flag certification for its environmental management practices.
The certification involves strict criteria, including education and information, water quality, and environment management of safety and services.
The hotel was awarded the certification following an assessment by the Blue Flag UAE Committee and the Blue Flag International Jury, coordinated by Emirates Wildlife Society – World Wide Fund for Nature.
Commenting on the certification, Sofitel The Palm Dubai director of engineering Rohit Salunke said: “We are proud to have received the Blue Flag certification and be among the few highly ranked beach destinations in the UAE for our environmental commitment.
“We have now become the only resort on Palm Jumeirah, and within the Accor Group, to have received three prestigious sustainability certifications including Green Globe certification and ISO 14001:2004, within just one year of resort operations.”
General manager Christophe Schnyder added: “This recognition is a testament of our ongoing commitment and efforts in ensuring a sustainable environment. Our whole team strongly believes that sustainability is not only a corporate responsibility but a global one, to help preserve our planet. By following the best sustainability practices, we offer our guests an environmental-friendly resort with a ‘magnifique’ experience.”
