Accor debuts Majlis Grand Mercure in Abu Dhabi

Parinaaz Navdar, January 5th, 2015

Accor Hotel Services Middle East has opened its first Majlis Grand Mercure-branded luxury boutique property in the region.

Located in Abu Dhabi, Majlis Grand Mercure Residence, the brand’s flagship property, features 198 rooms, a full-service Mediterranean and Arabic restaurant, a French café, swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna, Jacuzzi, and business centre.

The upscale property features 90 studios and executive studios, and 36 two-bedroom suites and executive two-bedroom suites.

Each room category offers panoramic views of the city from every floor. All rooms also include wireless internet, LCD and LED TVs, in-room safes, and fully-equipped kitchens.

The rooftop restaurant – Mezzahto – offers Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with live cooking stations.

Casual lunch and dinner options are available at La Brioche, the hotel’s café and patisserie.

Majlis Grand Mercure Residence general manager Arshad Mahmood said: "This stunning addition to the Accor group’s growing regional portfolio is the first true Majlis Grand Mercure brand. With this new style of property, we are bringing something fresh to Abu Dhabi.

"We give guests a true feeling of Middle Eastern hospitality – after all, we are in the middle of the Gulf, which is enriched by its traditional values.

"Guests at the Majlis Grand Mercure Residence can expect to stay in an oversized room, with more facilities than traditionally expected. We understand the need to blend a sense of warm, traditional Arabic welcome with contemporary design and service – this we believe is the Majlis brand concept.”

Accor unveiled the new Arabic-inspired brand in May 2014, aimed at Middle East customers and overseas visitors looking for local culture.
