Greek restaurant Elia to host culinary festival

Located at the Majestic Hotel in Dubai, Greek restaurant Elia is launching a culinary festival starting in February 2015.

Elia’s consultant chef Yiannis Baxevanis and chef de cuisine Ilias Kokoroskos are inviting four award winning chefs in 2015 to showcase the best of authentic Greek cuisine.

The special menus during these events will be available for three nights and diners will have the chance to meet the chefs.

The festival will start with Michelin-starred chef Jerome Serres from February 2-4. While originally from France, Serres started Spondi restaurant in Athens in 2001. In 2005 he moved to Iridanos Hotel, and also worked at Pil Poul restaurant.

During his eight years in Greece, he won the publicly-voted title of Best French Chef in Greece and also won three Michelin Stars. Currently, he is executive chef at Table Fine, Jouneih, Lebanon.

Also confirmed for the festival is Dimitris Dimitriadis, who has received the 'Golden Hat' Greek recognition five times, along with one Michelin Star.

The festival will end with Dimitris Chronopoulos, a pastry chef and official Valhrona demonstrator for Greece and Kuwait.

The name of the fourth chef will soon be announced, according to the restaurant's spokesperson.
