Grant Ruddiman has left Jumeirah Group, with Sven Wiedenhaupt taking over his roles as general manager of Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
Wiedenhaupt joins from The Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, where he was also general manager, and brings more than 24 years of luxury hotel management experience.
The German national is a graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and is fluent in English, French and German.
“This is not only an iconic hotel, mall and office complex, it is a smooth-running machine that delivers the very best in luxury hospitality for the business traveller and increasingly for holiday-makers keen to experience dynamic Dubai,” he said.
Wiedenhaupt had been with Four Seasons for 10 years, holding senior roles in New York, Doha in Qatar and Damascus. Stints with Intercontinental Group and Marriott earlier in his career also saw him work in Arizona, California and Wisconsin.
His predecessor in Dubai, Grant Ruddiman, had been with Jumeirah Group since 2010 and, in addition to his responsibilities at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, was also an area general manager.
