Melia Hotels International has outlined plans for 100 more hotels around the world, including the opening of a hotel under its Innside brand in Dubai.

The 125-Innside Dubai is one of three new properties announced for the urban brand, which originates in Germany. The other two are in Glasgow and Birmingham.

Other new properties in the horizon include Sol House Taghazout, with 87 bungalows, in Morrocco, as well as the new Meliá Ibirapuera (350 rooms) in Sao Paulo.

Meanwhile, in Spain the company has announced ME Barcelona (173 rooms), which joins a Dubai hotel in the ME by Melia pipeline.

The hotels were all announced at the recent International Tourism Fair in Spain (Fitur), where the company explained how its portfolio now stands at 378 hotels, including those in the pipeline.

Melia CEO and vice chairman Gabriel Escarrer said: “Our Strategic Plan has allowed us to carefully manage a few difficult years and we have levered our resort leadership and international presence to become one of the largest hotel management companies in the world, all while retaining our commitment to Spain where we have continued to invest and reinvent our value proposal for guests and for society as a whole.”

Within the Middle East, the company recently opened its first hotel in Qatar, with the 317-key Melia Doha in the capital.
