The Doubletree by Hilton brand is to make it Egyptian debut in 2017, with the opening of a 197-room property in the coastal destination of Ain Al Sokhna.
Hilton Worlwide last week signed an agreement with the Asala For Investment and Touristic Development Company for the new property, which will be part of a mixed-use residential and leisure development.
“The incredible tradition of hospitality, culture and history in Egypt has long made it a destination of choice for global travelers,” said Hilton Worldwide president, Middle East and Africa Rudi Jagersbacher.
“Our Hilton Worldwide portfolio stretches across the country, and we are delighted to be announcing our first DoubleTree by Hilton in Ain Al Sokhna, which benefits from its close proximity to the major infrastructure investments in Suez as well as for its appeal as a leisure destination.”
Facilities at the new hotel will include a fitness centre and swimming pools, while the property will also have an all-day dining restaurant and five further food and beverage outlets. In addition to this it will have 200 square metre multi-functional meeting room of in size, as well as boardroom and business centre.
Ain Al Sokhna is located approximately 55 kilometres south of Suez and 190 kilometres east of Cairo, and is described by Hilton as a popular weekend destination for both tourists and residents.
DoubleTree by Hilton global head John Greenleaf said: "With increasing numbers of travellers arriving in Egypt, we look forward to expanding our global Doubletree offering in the destination of Ain Al Sokhna - providing features and amenities that define our brand such as our friendly service that starts with the signature warm chocolate chip cookie welcome presented to every guest upon check-in.”
